How 45s Were Recorded

Yesterday I came across an early '60s video from Britain about the recording and production of singles, featuring Helen Shapiro (above). Helen was bigger than the Beatles in early 1963 (they opened for her back then). In effect, she was the U.K.'s Lesley Gore and recorded hits before Gore. In fact, Helen was first to record It's My Party. If you're unfamiliar with Helen, I interviewed her in London in 2011 (go here). Here's Britain's teen sensation in 1961 (she was all of 15) as she helps to illustrate how 45s were made and manufactured. We even get to see EMI producer Norrie Paramor in action.
